Arthritis and Bursitis

Arthritis and Bursitis

Arthritis is a common disease that causes joint pain, stiffness, immobility and swelling.  Arthritis is a term for a group of over 100 diseases that affect the muscle and skeletal system, particularly the joints.  Arthritis, injury, infection, or excessive exercise can lead to bursitis.  Bursitis results when the bursa, the tissue around a joint, becomes inflamed.  The professionals at the Office of Orthopaedic Medicine and Surgery are experts in pain control and the maintenance of joint motion.
