Van Nguyen, MS, PA-C — Physician Assistant

Biography
Van Nguyen is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in general orthopedics and sports medicine. Born and raised in a small province in Central Vietnam, he came to the United States when he was ten years old with his parents and three older siblings, and has lived in the D.C Metropolitan area ever since. Van earned his Bachelor of Science degree and PA certification on an academic scholarship from Howard University in Washington, DC and was inducted into the Epsilon Tau Sigma National Honor Society upon graduation. From 2015 to 2018 Van was part of the medical staff for the Washington Spirit Professional Women's soccer team. Shortly after, he furthered his academic career and earned his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies from Touro College in 2019. His clinical experiences include both surgical and non-surgical management of a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries, overuse conditions, and chronic pain conditions, in patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric.
Van's goal is to offer his patients the most up-to-date, unbiased opinions while providing the highest quality of care so they can stay active and pain free. He utilizes bedside ultrasound imaging to thoroughly diagnose and treat a multitude of acute and chronic sports-related injuries. He has a particular interest in regenerative medicine and has used specialized therapies like Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and stem cell therapy. Using these cutting-edge therapies, he is able to customize an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan to meet each individual patient's goals.
Van came to appreciate sports medicine through his own athletic activities. In his free time, he plays flag football and soccer year-round, and enjoys traveling, snowboarding, hiking, weight training, and yoga. As an athlete himself, he fully understands and empathizes with the physical and mental pain his patients go through when it comes to injuries.
