Mark J. Scheer, MD
Mark J. Scheer, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine. He is a specialist in knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. Dr. Scheer graduated cum laude from Tulane University and received his medical degree with honors from Tulane University School of Medicine. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Dr. Scheer completed his general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center and New York University Medical Center. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases and his pediatric orthopaedic surgery training at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Dr. Scheer was awarded the highest rating of orthopaedic resident evaluations from the New York University orthopaedic surgery department. He completed his fellowship training in sports medicine at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine and served as an orthopaedic team physician for the California State University of Long Beach.
Dr. Scheer is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia and Washington Orthopaedic Society. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. He is a clinical instructor for George Washington University and Georgetown University orthopaedic surgery residents. Dr. Scheer is an orthopaedic team physician for Gallaudet University.
